After wrestling last weekend with the decision as to whether or not adjust the way the siding was installed so far, Dave bit the bullet and spent the better part of Monday and Tuesday changing the way it met the flashing and the shingles. Painful, but worth it.
Brandon and John from RMW Exteriors arrived every morning just before 7:00am and ploughed forward with the aluminum. It seems the early bird gets the job done. They completed all they could (shed dormers to be done after chimney/roof are finished) loaded up their trailer and rolled off the site on Thursday afternoon.
Speaking of the chimney stone…Pat and Brock gave it their best shot to get her done this week but once again, Mother Nature would not have it. They worked Sunday, Tuesday and then into the darkness on Wednesday getting soooooo close. Pat arrived with Corrie to finish it off on Thursday but another huge thunderstorm rolled in and killed any chance of that happening. Pat was off for his annual Boys Weekend on Friday – a well-deserved break – so it looks like we’ll have to wait another week before finishing off that roof!
The drywall got started on Tuesday. I won’t go into detail, but it’s been a bumpy start in the master bath and breezeway.
And finally, Dave and Sam finished the last of their cedar shake work on the garage front gable (which included “juicing” another hornet nest) early Friday afternoon.
A solid week and we were still on the road to the spectacular Fitz + Floyd Family Cottage by 3:00 for some much needed R+R!
One more week until Labour Day! Where did summer go?
