April 27 – May 13

Since we returned north in late April, things have been steadily progressing.

April 27, Joe Walser stopped in to work out the plan for capping the beam in the great room and the trusses in the master.

April 29, Dave started the pool house.

May 3, Justin and the boys from DK Custom Welding & Design delivered their steel planter boxes – the giant 4ft x 10ft x 2ft box weighing in at ~400lbs – will serve as a screen from the course to the pool.

May 10, Tom from Riley Painting Corp. began his prep work. Looking better already!

On May 13, after 3 days of relentless rainfall, Dave skimmed off the pool tarp and pulled it back to reveal the pond. Even drying out and cleaning off the tarp was a monster-sized chore.

Then it was time to set the 14 x 28 x 4 inch thick coping stone special-ordered in early April from Creative Landscape Depot.

All was going great until we realized we only received half of the order. 20 more stones to come.

Moving on then to moving the cedar bushes from the north end of the pool fence to the east side.

And building the concrete forms for the wrap-around steps in front of all the sliders.

And a wall in the pool house for the electrical panel.

And opening up the kitchen doorway. Small area. BIG dust.

And screwing down the old subfloors.

Plus a big shout out to Steve who was back to install the pool equipment!!!

We might just be swimming by May 2-4. Woohoo!
