Long weekend. Short week. May 20-27

Early Saturday morning, Dave threw a few coats of mud on the the new kitchen opening and then we headed to the KFC in Port Elgin for a weekend of Kuntzy Krazy. Some downtime – and awesome hospitality courtesy of Fitz and Floyd – was much appreciated.

On the holiday Monday we went to St. Jacob’s Garden Centre and ordered 2 dozen yew bushes. They arrived the next day and Dave and Curtis did the planting.

They also demoed the original concrete walkway out back, and DB left Curtis to finish the deal on Wednesday while he indulged in a round of golf.

Other random jobs included installing a drainage pipe for the downspouts, putting up 5 coach lights, and rewiring the kitchen light switches.

And FINALLY, the tiny little tear in the pool liner which was holding us up from filling her up was repaired…

…so after helping brother in law Ben Cairns build the concrete forms for his hot tub pad, Dave braved 65 degree water temps for the inaugural plunge on May 27!

Here’s hoping someone from Reitzel Heating will be by to hook up the gas chop! chop!
