A real mixed bag of projects this week.
Steve and Ryan from Bast Home Comfort hooked up our gas fireplaces. Dave then finished hanging the drywall, put on corner beads and started taping.
Tiling began in the upper guest and master ensuite baths. Upstairs Brian Aubie and Matt – his right hand man – did the shower walls, Dave installed the floor heat (flex-snap and heating cable) then they returned to do the scratch coat.
Downstairs Brian cut and laid 2 x 4 tiles for the master shower pan.
Interesting thing about natural stone: The middle tile is the sample of “Carrera Arabescato” we based our order on. The 2 on either side, are samples of what we received in our lot. Kind of crazy, but I think we can make it work.

In other stone news…Dave moved the skidsteer and mini excavator to make way for 40,000 pounds of armour stone for the retaining wall.
Dave trimmed out the west guest room and made it “Lori Ready!” Not fancy, but certainly comfy enough.
And last but not least, another bin was dropped off. Dave was thrilled to get rid of most of the debris around the site and our neighbours were even more so. (Not gonna lie, we called in a professional to deal with the leaves.)
‘Tis the Season – Cheers!

40,000 tonnes of rock huh? That’s a helluva lot of stone, kids, you must be expecting a biblical scale tsumani to hit KW sometime soon? The Titanic weighed 46,000 tons (I looked it up). It looks really nice though!
